Flight booked

Plane ticket has been purchased! Leaving on the first flight to Amsterdam on February 4th.
Used my 'almost expired' frequent flyer miles to get the ticket which made the price go down enormously, allows me to take more luggage and prevents the expiration.
One more check placed on the checklist...

The day is rapidly approaching :)

I just wish I could get more concentrated to study for exams...

Ready!

So it's set! I have a roof over my head as soon as I arrive at U. Twente on February 4th :D
I can now book my flight and get all this done with before the start of exams which are less than 2 weeks from today...

Accommodation offer

New update!

I've been offered accommodation on campus at U. Twente. My reply is expected in 6 days and I have to decide whether I want it or not. I've been searching for information on Witbreuksweg and what I know so far is that it's in a wooded area, most of the Erasmus students go there and it's not exactly 'central'. I'm not really worried because I'll have a bicycle but the fact that it's a little far from the train station is bothering me. On the plus side, I'll have my own toilet and shower!

When I get there I'll be sure to put up pictures.

Provisionally accepted

E-mail received a couple of days ago:
Dear Applicant,
We are pleased to inform you that you have been provisionally accepted as an exchange student at the University of Twente. The study and faculty you applied for is: Biomedical Engineering at the Faculty of Science and Technology.
Yupii!!

Now I have to deal with a couple of things such as accommodation, which has given me a couple of headaches because I'm not sure how long I'll be there due to the thesis. But all will be worked out!

On another note, my last week of classes is next week. It's weird but it's my last week of classes of my college course. After 12 years of school and 4 & 1/2 years of college, I have to say it'll be weird not sitting in classrooms wondering when class will be over :) In retrospective, I had a good run but now I'm off to yet another stage before finishing college and then off to life!

Headed to the Netherlands

Well, in exactly 2 months I'll be on my way to the Netherlands. More specifically, the University of Twente in Enschede.

Within the Erasmus program I'll be working on my Masters Thesis in Biomedical Engineering. I haven't even been able to wrap my head around the idea that I'm almost finishing college, let alone moving to a whole new country on my own. It'll be an adventure!

My thesis theme has been chosen and I'm really excited to get to work on  it. So far I've been reading the recommended bibliography whenever I have some available time from college work.
Still expecting to hear about final acceptance and regarding accommodation. Can't wait!
